Earthquake kills hundreds in Afghanistan Flooding in Morocco leaves families shattered
37 people have lost their lives and many more have been reported missing as severe flash floods hit Safi Province, Morocco.
The flooding, which began on 14th December was triggered by intense rainfall and has caused widespread devastation. Many families have lost their homes and livelihoods, and are extremely vulnerable amid the harsh winter weather.
The scale and speed of the floods has overwhelmed drainage systems and local authorities have been unable to contain the damage.
Rescue operations are underway, but this has been challenging due to damaged roads and continued rainfall.
Our teams are working tirelessly to support families affected by the floods. Our support includes providing food packs and hygiene kits, as well as shelter support for those who have been forced to flee their homes. We are also working with local authorities to identify other ways to support vulnerable communities.
